You want to hear from me?

Fine. This is me. I am posting.

I just finished a 3 day course on water remediation. Was it fun? Sure. Why wouldn't it be. Was it painful? Of course it was. 3 days in a metal chair? THAT will cause anyone pain. Did I learn a lot? Absolutely! Probably way more that I should have. But I still want more. I loved sitting in a classroom learning. Good times. Makes me wonder why I hated learning so much earlier in life.

Here is a low down. Mold is bad. For so many reasons I can't tell you. You would be amazed. So much has been learned about it for the past five years than ever before. There have been numerous studies done by scientists and doctors and microbiologists all working together to figure out exactly how all types of mold affect the human body. IT WOULD SCARE YOU! Needless to say, it can cause sickness, cause an existing sickness to take longer to heal, cause brain related illness, cause a dormant sickness in your body to wake up, and in some cases give you some nasty diseases.
There is so much ignorance about mold. Why should you worry? You had mold everywhere in you house when you grew up. You play outside where there is mold. You have been a spelunker your whole life! You never got sick! Why should I listen to you!? First of all, Mold that grows in your house is a whole different type than the mold and fungus than grows outside. And second, if you did have mold growing in your house like a pot garden, how do you know any sickness you have, or had previously had, can not be associated with it. Did your illness last way longer than it should have? Was your body trying to fight a war on 2 fronts?
All I am saying is if you have mold in your house, find out why it is there, stop one of its food sources (there are 4 and moisture is the easiest), and dispose of it properly. IT IS NOT "HARMLESS"!

My question is: how did someone let their house get to that point? It's not like that was IN the walls...it was all over the outside. What the heck!

Don't you remember grandma's house on Holly? Oh yeah, you weren't here when we moved them out, but I am sure your dad will tell you, it was absolutely molding away. It was between the layers of paint, back behind dressers, everywhere. They had been using the humidifer (the tea kettle on the stove every night) FOREVER!!! And it just kept building up. No wonder she ended up so sick that she just couldn't take care of things anymore.
